University City

University City is one of St. Louis’ older communities established in the late 1800’s and founded by publisher, Edward Gardner Lewis.  Lewis developed the area surrounding his publishing complex in 1903. By 1906, Lewis was elected as the first Mayor of University City and today, one of his historic buildings he designed remains in use as the home of University City’s City Hall.
